OAKLAND NAMES MATT BOLTZ ASSISTANT ATHLETIC DIRECTOR FOR BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
Boltz joins Oakland Athletics after over three years at the university level
ROCHESTER, Mich. -- Oakland has named Matt Boltz Assistant Athletic Director for Business Administration announced by Senior Associate Athletic Director Marshall Foley on Wednesday. Boltz will be responsible for providing business support in all fiscal matters pertaining to budgetary control, accounting policies and procedures, financial analysis, billing, projections and special projects.
"We are excited to have Matt move across campus and join the Athletics staff," said Foley. "Matt has been a long-time fan and supporter of Oakland Athletics, and his love for the Golden Grizzlies combined with his knowledge of the personnel and processes at Oakland University made him a natural fit for our Athletics ethos. His expertise will assist greatly in our efforts to continue to provide a first-class experience for Oakland's student-athletes."
Before joining athletics, Boltz spent three years as a financial analyst at the university level providing budgetary and financial planning support. During this time he successfully led in the university-wide implementation of electronic budget journal vouchers and presented on the implementation at state and national conferences.
Prior to Oakland, Boltz worked as an accountant for Groen, Kluka & Company, P.C.. He also spent three years as a data analyst for Process Development Corporation in Canton, Mich. Boltz worked at Baker College from 2004-09 as a programmer and adjunct instructor.
The Augusta, Mich. native earned his bachelor’s degree in English from Grand Valley State in 1997 then earned his associates in applied science with a focus in computer programming from Kalamazoo Valley Community College in 2000. He later went on to earn two degrees at Oakland, his Masters of Business Administration in 2006 and Masters of Accounting in 2011.
