OAKLAND NAMES TODD EDWARDS DIRECTOR OF VIDEO CONTENT SERVICES
Edwards comes to Oakland from Mercer University
ROCHESTER, Mich. -- Oakland has named Todd Edwards Director of Video Content Services announced by Associate Athletic Director for Public Relations Scott MacDonald on Wednesday. Edwards will be responsible for overseeing the production of all athletic multimedia content including promotional packages and live streaming production.
"We are excited to add Todd to our team to run video for Athletics," said MacDonald. "He adds tremendous leadership and experience, and will be a great fit into our culture."
Prior to Oakland, Edwards was the Assistant Athletic Director for Video Services at Mercer where he oversaw all video related requests and productions for athletics. He created all video content for mercerbears.com and its social media platforms while producing and directing all live broadcasts for the Bears including broadcasts on Fox Sport Southeast, ESPN3 and American Sports Network.
Before his time in Georgia, Edwards spent four years as the Director of Multimedia Services at Central Michigan where he was responsible for all video related content for cmuchippewas.com. Edwards also spent time at Notre Dame as the Game Day Video Board Operator for Fighting Irish sporting events.
The Iron Mountain, Mich. native began his career in Shreveport, La. as the Director of Game Day Production for the Shreveport Mudbugs, part of the North American Hockey League, before moving on to the South Bend Cubs, the Class A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, as the Director of Production. Edwards graduated from Central Michigan in 2009 with a degree in broadcasting and cinematic arts.
