ROCHESTER, Mich. -- Leanne Schnurer has been named Director of Game Day Experience and Fan Engagement for Oakland Athletics announced by Deputy Athletics Director Padraic McMeel on Monday. She will be responsible for all marketing and promotions for athletics including promotions of ticket packages, athletics video and creative services as well as the Spirit Squad team, band and mascot program.
“We are excited to have Leanne continue as a member of the Golden Grizzly family,” said McMeel. “She was tremendous as our graduate assistant and serving in the interim role for the position and understands what we want to do with our game day experience and getting our students and fans more engaged with Oakland Athletics. We look forward to having her full-time and providing new, innovative ideas in this position.”
Schnurer, who was previously serving as the interim director, spent the last two years as the graduate assistant for marketing and promotions within athletics where she was responsible for managing in-game elements including fan contests, pre-game and post-game fan engagements, coordination of time-outs, and music. In addition she oversaw and helped create graphics for athletics and assisted in managing Oakland’s social media platforms.
Before coming on as a graduate assistant, Schnurer worked with the Golden Grizzlies’ marketing and promotions team for two years as a undergraduate student, giving her four years of experience working in Oakland Athletics. The Richmond, Mich. native owns two degrees from Oakland, earning her bachelor’s degree in marketing in 2015 and master’s in business administration in 2017.
