ROCHESTER, Mich. – Keegan Warner and Jim Nicknair have joined the athletic training staff announced Tuesday by Associate Athletic Director Marshall Foley. Warner joins Oakland after serving as an outreach athletic trainer at Novi High School through the Plymouth Physical Therapy Specialists while Nicknair joins the Golden Grizzlies after spending four years as an assistant athletic trainer at Adrian College.

“I am very pleased to welcome Keegan and Jim to Oakland University as key parts of our Athletic Training staff,” said Foley. “They each bring a unique and valuable skill set to our team; more importantly, they bring an attitude and enthusiasm that will mesh well with the Ethos of Oakland Athletics and help us collectively strive to provide a first-class experience for our student-athletes.”

Warner provided athletic training coverage for 30 varsity sports educating athletes on injury prevention, nutrition and training techniques during her tenure at Novi High School. She also served as an athletic trainer for the New York Jets, assisting with preventative and rehabilitative exercise programs.

A native of Northville, Mich., Warner earned a Master of Science in Kinesiology from Michigan State University in 2016 and Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Eastern Michigan University in 2014.

During his tenure at Adrian College, Nicknair provided primary coverage for the men’s ice hockey, baseball, women’s volleyball, men’s and women’s golf and bass fishing teams. He also served as the director of the drug education and screening program.

Nicknair, a native of Glenburn, Maine, earned a Master of Science in Athletic Training from Ohio University in 2013 and Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from the University of Southern Maine in 2011.
