ROCHESTER, Mich. -- The Golden Grizzles invite friends, family and supporters to the annual Tip-Off Breakfast on Thursday, Oct. 27, inside the Athletics Center O'rena from 7:15-10 a.m. Student-athletes from the men's and women's basketball teams will be present, along with coaches, and representatives from the cheer and dance teams.

Fans will have the opportunity to converse with the student-athletes, coaches and staff over breakfast, and get a look at this year's teams as Oakland men and women will host a combined 32 home games this season.

The men's squad, which returns three starters and welcomes eight newcomers, was projected to finish second in the 2016-17 Horizon League preseason poll. The Golden Grizzlies will be featured on ESPN3 in 10 of their 18 home games, in addition to two televised ESPN2 games. The team will travel to Anchorage, Alaska to compete in the 39th Annual Great Alaska Shootout from Nov. 23-26, fans can watch the games on CBS.

The Golden Grizzlies return an experienced women's team that will host 14 home games this season. In addition, they will play three Big Ten teams on the road against University of Michigan, Michigan State and Indiana.

The 2017 Horizon Basketball Tournament will return to Joe Louis Arena, March 3-7. The tournament this year has a new format as the Horizon League has revised the bracket to feature back-to-back games. This season will mark the first year the women will not compete at a campus sites.
