OAKLAND ADDS SYDNEY ZWART TO ATHLETIC TRAINING STAFF

ROCHESTER, Mich. – Sydney Zwart has joined the athletic training staff announced Thursday by Associate Athletic Director Marshall Foley. Zwart joins the Golden Grizzles after spending the past year as an athletic trainer at Spectrum Health Medical Group.

"We are very pleased to welcome Sydney to Oakland University Athletics,” Foley said. “She brings a solid background in athletic training and a tremendous enthusiasm to the staff, and she is a perfect fit with the culture of the Golden Grizzlies team."

While at Spectrum Health Medical Group, Zwart provided athletic training coverage for Sparta and East Grand Rapids High Schools.  Prior to Spectrum, Zwart was an athletic trainer at Lindenwood University from 2013-2015 where she earned her master’s degree in human performance. There, she worked with men’s and women’s volleyball and the men’s and women’s golf teams while also overseeing the rehabilitation program. Zwart also spent time at Butler working primarily with the football team.

Zwart, a native of Kalamazoo, Mich., earned her bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Grand Valley State University in 2013, where she provided athletic training services to the Grand Valley State volleyball and football team. She also provided services at multiple high schools in the area including Rockford and Grandville High School.
