Gina DeMartis worked in the athletic department for eight years. She worked in multiple units, including business operations, marketing, ticket sales, and her most recent post as the Assistant to the Athletic Director and Events Coordinator. During her tenure, Gina assisted many of the department staff members and coaches with their operational and administrative needs. She was instrumental in communication for the department with the University community and continuously strived for Oakland Athletics to meet its mission in support of the student-athletes.
DeMartis was involved in many of the department's initiatives including her service as the Assistant Tournament Manager for the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship Second/Third Round Games at The Palace in 2013, and Oakland's move to the Horizon League.
As events coordinator, DeMartis provided oversight and administered the Hollie L. Lepley Hall of Honor, Tip-off Breakfast, Golden Grizzlies Golf Classic, Fundraising Events, as well as handling the graduate assistant program for the department. She coordinated the Athletic Director's retreat for the Horizon League this past fall and assisted with the day-to-day operations of the athletic department.
DeMartis earned her bachelor's degree in communication studies at State University of New York College at Oswego in 1981. She went on to receive a master's degree in educational administration and policy studies in 1989 from the University of Albany. She is married to Rich DeMartis, and has two sons, Daniel and Joseph.
