ROCHESTER, Mich. -- Oakland Athletics has compiled its members of the new Grizzly Motion team for the 2017-18 season announced by head coach Chelsea Estes on Wednesday.
"I am blown away with all of the talent that this team consists of," said Estes. "The girls are eager to get started and embrace the new integrated team atmosphere. Kayla and I have great visions for the future of the team and we are extremely excited to get the season started."
In an effort to enhance the experience for cheer and dance team members, the new Grizzly Motion team was formed under one operational umbrella earlier this spring. The team will be responsible for fan engagement and community interaction, participating in competition, showcasing the team's talents at games with cheer and dance performances, as well as integrated routines.
"We had a lot of talent come through tryouts," said assistant coach Kayla Peiffer. "We felt these individuals each had something unique about them and would make this team great. After watching everyone work together we are very excited for what's to come."
Additional tryouts will be held at the beginning of the school year at times and dates to be announced.
