CLEVELAND - The relay team of Grace Shinske, Sydney McDowell, Holly Morren and Katie Colwell came in first and broke the school record in the 200-yard relay with a time of 1:39.47. This time also landed them the new 200-yard Horizon League championship record and a new pool record in the Robert F. Busbey Natatorium.
In addition, the relay team of Amber Lefler, Cassie Misiewicz, Alysse Fischer and Arynn de Leeuw, came in first in the 800-yard relay with a time of 7:21.18. This time broke the pool record that was previously held by UWM (7:21.28).
On the men's side, the 200-yard relay team consisting of Paul Huch, Tony Eriksson, Rudy Aguilar and Brant Cassidy took home the first place title with a time of 1:27.76. With this time, the men also set a new pool record that was previously held by CSU (1:28.41).
Through the first day of competition, the men sit in first place with 74 points, while the women sit in third place with 80 points.
The Golden Grizzlies will continue tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 22, prelims starting at 10 a.m.
