ROCHESTER, Mich. – Devon Nowicki and Patricia Aschan were two-time individual winners as the gold team defeated the black squad 58-37 (women) and 54-41 (men) in Oakland’s annual swimming and diving intrasquad meet.
Nowicki won the 200 free going 1:42.58 and the 200 breast at 2:07.69, as Aschan touched first in the 200 IM in 2:06.92 and also won the 200 back in 2:06.65.
Also notching wins for the gold team were Paul Huch who swam a personal best 21.22 in the 50 free, Holly Morren in the 50 free (24.95), Cassie Misiewicz in the 200 fly (2:10.71), Tuomas Kiviluoma in the 100 free (46.89) and Rachel Waite in the 200 breast (2:22.27).
The black squad earned a pair of victories from Nikki Flynn in the 200 free (1:58.34) and 100 free (53.27), Krissy Harmon in the 1000 free (10:36.63) and 500 free (5:13.00), and Ben VanderWeide in the 1000 free (9:59.45) and 500 free (4:45.24).
Also winning for the black squad was Patrik Lofgren in the 200 IM going 1:58.55, Mitch Alters in the 200 fly (1:53.47) and Aleksander Danielewski in the 200 back (1:52.80).
The Golden Grizzlies men will begin their 2015-16 regular season October 9 at the Dennis Stark Relays at Notre Dame, while both teams will be in action October 10 for Oakland’s home opener against Green Bay.
