Day 2 Results Get Acrobat Reader

AKRON, Ohio -- Joe Smith set a school, meet and pool record in the 1-meter diving competition with a first place finish and a score of 359.25 Saturday at the Zippy Invitational as the Oakland men’s swimming and diving team remained in control of first place after day two.

Smith broke his own school record earlier this season against Eastern Michigan with a score of 352.50.

Grace Shinske earned two second place finishes in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:41.15 and in the 100 backstroke finishing in 54.84. Shinske’s backstroke performance is the fifth fastest time in program history.

Through 213 events, the men remain in first place with 1,504.5 points, while the women sit in fourth with 848.5 points.

The Golden Grizzlies will wrap-up the Zippy Invitational Sunday beginning at 9 a.m.
