ROCHESTER, Mich. – Oakland swimming and diving was back on campus Wednesday morning to mark the first practice of the 2017-18 season for the Golden Grizzlies.
Head Coach Pete Hovland returns to the helm of the swimming and diving program, entering his 38th year at Oakland. His tenure as a head coach is tied for the second-longest among current NCAA Division I swimming head coaches.
The Golden Grizzlies have now won 39 straight league titles on the men's side and 23 straight for the women.
The Golden Grizzlies begin the season at home with the annual alumni meet on Sept. 23. Oakland officially opens the regular season at the Water Carnival hosted by University of Michigan Sept. 29-30.
