ROCHESTER, Mich. - Oakland swimming and diving head coach Pete Hovland announced the completion of his coaching staff in preparation of the 2013-14 campaign. Last year's intern Katie Sullivan will remain on the staff as an assistant coach, former All-American Chris Sullivan will be a volunteer assistant and Andre Latour will serve as the intern.
"Katie did a great job for us last year, and she brings a lot to the program," said Hovland.
Chris Sullivan returns to Oakland after five years at Colorado College. One of the top swimmers in Oakland history, Sullivan competed at the NCAA Championships three times and was an All-American in both the 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly as a senior in 2006.
"Chris is one of the most decorated swimmers in program history, so it's great to have him back home," Hovland said. "Without question, he's someone people think of when talking about Oakland swimming. Having him here will be very beneficial to our student-athletes and our staff."
A recent graduate of the Oakland swimming program, Latour was a four-year letterwinner for the Golden Grizzlies.
"Andre brings a lot of enthusiasm to our program; he's really the embodiment of Oakland swimming," Hovland said. "His dedication and passion will definitely rub off on the team."
