Wednesday Dec. 23

On their last full day in Puerto Rico, the Golden Grizzlies enjoyed one last beach day and sunset. Oakland swimming and diving will return home on Dec. 24.

Tuesday, Dec. 22


Oakland swimming and diving has been training for one week and partook in its last two-a-day practice of the training trip.

The team also had a message to the Oakland men’s basketball team before their game against No. 1 Michigan State.

Monday, Dec. 21


The Golden Grizzlies have put in five days of training, but are still enjoying their ocean view from their hotel.

Sunday, Dec. 20


After a day off, the Golden Grizzlies got back to work for day six of their training trip at the University of Puerto Rico.

Saturday, Dec. 19

The Golden Grizzlies got the day off and spent it cliff diving in Gozalandia, San Sebastián.

Even Oakland head coach Pete Hovland got in on the action.

Friday, Dec. 18


Another sunny day in Puerto Rico for day four of Oakland swimming and diving’s training trip.

Thursday, Dec. 17

On day three from Rincon, Puerto Rico, the Oakland men's and women's swimming and diving team had some fun off the 3-meter boards. Divers Adam Polosky, Joe Smith and Stirling Fordham performed a dive together while swimmers took a different approach.

After practice, swimmers Takara Martin and Ayrton Kasemets took some time to discuss the importance of training trips.

Wednesday, Dec. 16

The Golden Grizzlies began their first day of training at the University of Puerto Rico natatorium while enjoying some of the beach scenery in the morning in the town of Rincon.

Tuesday, Dec. 15


After a 10.5 hour flight the Golden Grizzlies landed in San Juan International Airport where they ran into a familiar face in Oakland men's soccer alumni and current Columbus Crew goalkeeper Steve Clark.



The men's and women's swimming and diving teams then hopped on a bus to Hotel Villa Cofresi and were able to unwind before beginning training Wednesday. In total, the Golden Grizzlies were traveling for 15 hours.
