MARY MOORE BREAKS OWN SCHOOL RECORD AT SVSU JETS PIZZA INVITE

Day 1 Results

SAGINAW, Mich. - Mary Moore broke her own weight throw record with a toss of 51 ft., 9 in. eclipsing her mark of 50 ft., 4 in. set last weekend. Angela Ciaravino finished second in the Pentathlon with 3183 points followed by Whitney Mergens in fifth with 3087 points to lead the Oakland track and field team on the first day of competition at the SVSU Jets Pizza Invite on Friday night.

Kendell Jefferson qualified first in the 60m (7.67) and second in the 200m (25.16) prelims. Madaline Hall also placed fourth in the long jump at 17 ft., 6.75 in.

On the men's side, Zach Stadnika place first in the 60m and second in the long jump, shot put and high jump to begin the heptathlon. Joe McCarthy also qualified eighth in the 60m (7.05) and sixth in the 200m (21.91) with Napoleon Outlaw also qualifying second for the 200m (21.91).

The Golden Grizzlies return to the track for the final day of competition on Saturday, Jan. 27 at 11 a.m.
