YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -
Bryce Stroede won the 10,000m title for the second consecutive year with a time of 29:37.19 marking his 10th career individual league title. Sammy Mondry also finished second in the 10,000m with a mark of 36:33.29 on the first day of competition at the 2017 Horizon League Outdoor Championships on Friday night.

Angela Ciaravino also placed second in the javelin with a PR throw of 114 ft., 4 in. while Gino Vitella finished runner up in the discus with a toss of 162 ft.

Michael Cox (31:39.25) and Alana Koepf (36:43.41) each finished fourth in the 10,000m while Terri Brown also placed fourth in the javelin with a PR mark of 105 ft., 11 in.

Zach Stadnika also leads the decathlon with 3493 points through five events.
