LEXINGTON, Ky. - Ashley Burr ran a school record time of 10:14.14 in the 3,000-meter Steeplechase to finish in 17th place to lead the Golden Grizzlies at the NCAA East Preliminary Round on Friday night. Burr, a senior from Midland, Mich., surpassed her own school record by four seconds.
Miranda Haas also competed in the 3,000-Steeplechase, posting a time of 10:52.74, finishing in 45th place. On the men's side, George O'Connor clocked a time of 9:23.50 in the 3,000-SC and crossed the finish line in 29th place.
Gino Vitella tossed the shot put 53 feet, 11.75 inches to finish in 41st place. He became the first Golden Grizzly to compete at the NCAA Regional meet in three straight years in the same event.
