INDIANAPOLIS - Oakland's Kendell Jefferson and Zach Stadnika have been named Horizon League Runner and Athlete of the Week, respectively, announced by the league office on Tuesday for their record-breaking performances at the SVSU Jets Pizza Invite.
Jefferson, a senior from Wyoming, Mich., broke the 60m (7.58) and 200m (24.94) school record to place first and second respectively at the event. Her 200m mark was tops in the conference for the week while her 60m time ranked second.
Stadnika, a sophomore from Shelby Twp., Mich. broke his own heptathlon school record and set the league's top mark with 5182 points to secure a first-place finish.
Oakland travels to the Notre Dame Meyo Invite on Fri-Sat., Feb. 2-3.
