ROCHESTER, Mich. - Oakland track and field announced its schedule for the 2017 outdoor season, beginning on March 24-25 with the Raleigh Relays at North Carolina State and March 25 at the Tennessee Invite at the University of Tennessee.
"Our outdoor schedule the past few years has been very strong, and also has allowed us opportunities to give all of our athletes a chance to see competition,” head coach Paul Rice said. “The ultimate goal at the end of each outdoor season is to have a good number of athletes qualify for the NCAA Prelims, and also have strong team performances at the Horizon League Championships. This season's schedule, much like last year's schedule, should set us up to see some great late season success. It will also be great to have the UDM Dual back on our campus this spring. Having two home meets this year makes the season even more exciting for our athletes, especially our seniors."
The Golden Grizzlies will head to Miami of Ohio for the Miami Duals on April 1 before going head-to-head with rival Detroit in the UDM Duals at home on April 8. Oakland will host the Grizzly Invite on April 15 and then head to three meets on April 21-22 - the Jesse Owens Invite, Virginia Challenge and Georgia Tech Invite.
The Horizon League Outdoor Championships will be held March 5-7 at Youngstown State. The season concludes on March 11 with the Hillsdale Last Chance meet.
