Men's Track -- Bryce Stroede

ROCHESTER, Mich. -- Distance runner Bryce Stroede has been named Oakland Student Athlete of the Week for the week of May 22-28 after becoming the second student-athlete in program history to qualify for the NCAA National Outdoor Track and Field Championships and the first since 2010.

Stroede, a senior from Horton, Mich., punched his ticket to the 2017 championships by finishing 12th in the 5000-meter with a time of 14:07.94 at the NCAA East Prelims held at the UK Outdoor Track and Field Complex on May 27.

The NCAA National Championships will be held on Wednesday through Saturday, June 7-10, at Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon.
