EUGENE, Ore. - Andrew Bowman closed out his exceptional career for the Golden Grizzlies becoming the first ever to earn second team All-American honors after finishing 14th in the 3000m steeplechase in 8:49.43 Wednesday night at the NCAA Track and Field Championships at Hayward Field.

The Marlette, Mich. native punched his ticket to the NCAA Championships by finishing eighth ( 8:46.35 ) at the NCAA East Prelims in May held at the USF Track and Field Stadium in Tampa, Fla.

Bowman was just the third student-athlete in program history to compete at the national championships, the first to do so in the 3000m steeplechase.

Bowman will return to the program next year as a graduate assistant.
