ROCHESTER, Mich. -- The Oakland men’s and women’s cross country teams began its first official practice of the 2017 season Friday morning as both teams look to build off of recent success over the past few seasons.
The women’s team will be looking to win its third straight league title which has not been done on the women's side since former conference member Butler won three consecutive Horizon League Championships from 2009-11. The Oakland women return the reigning individual champion and first team all-league performer Rachel Levy plus two other first teamers in Alana Koepf and Ashley Burr.
The men’s side will also feature the reigning individual league champion in Bryce Stroede who was also a first team all-league selection, along with Connor Wuori. The Golden Grizzlies will go for their second title in three years.
