2015 CROSS COUNTRY SEASON IN REVIEW

ROCHESTER, Mich.
- The 2015 season will go down as one of the most successful in program history as Oakland became just the fourth school in Horizon League history to have both men's and women's cross country teams claim conference titles in the same season.

Men's Team Highlights:
▪ Finished 11th at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional for the best finish in school history
▪ Captured the program's first Horizon League title securing the first conference championship since 2005
▪ Won four events in a single season for the first time since 1979
▪ Placed 11th or better at every event with team scoring in 2015

Men's Individual Highlights:
Jacob Bowman and Andrew Bowman each earned All-Horizon League First-Team honors
George O'Connor, Bryce Stroede and Michael Cox each earned All-Horizon League Second-Team honors
Bryce Stroede set a new 8K school record with a time of 24:16.0 at the Bradley Pink Classic (Oct. 16)
Jacob Bowman placed in the top-10 four times with his best finish being first at the Golden Grizzly Open (Sept. 4)
Andrew Bowman recorded three top-10 finishes including first place at the Golden Grizzly Short Course Dual vs. CMU (Oct. 9)
Michael Cox Captured four top-10 finishes in 2015 increasing his career total to 10 which ranks seventh-most in Oakland's history
Bryce Stroede accumulated a team-high five top-10 finished, with the only race he finished outside the top-10 being the NCAA Great Lakes Regional
Jacob Bowman (Sept 8) and Bryce Stroede (Oct. 19) were named Horizon League Runner of the Week
▪ Head Coach Paul Rice won the Horizon League Coach of the Year award for Men's Cross Country

Women's Team Highlights:
▪ Placed 19th at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional, their best finish since 2009
▪ Won the program's first Horizon League title securing the first conference championship since 2012
▪ Won three separate events for the third time in the past six seasons
▪ Finished in the top-three at six of their eight events in 2015
▪ Ranked 15th in the Great Lakes Region in the Oct. 21 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll marking the first time the Golden Grizzlies cracked the top-15 regional lineup since the 2013 season

Women's Individual Highlights:
▪ Four Golden Grizzlies earned All-Horizon League First-Team honors: Ashley Burr, Rachel Levy, Miranda Haas and Karli Keur
Rachel Levy set 6K school record (20:58.7) in her first collegiate event at the Bradley Pink Classic (Oct. 17)
Morgan Bridgewater placed first at the Glen Oaks CC Invite (Sept. 25) and second at the Golden Grizzly Open (Sept. 4)
Ashley Burr recorded three top-five finishes, including a second place finish at the Horizon League Championship (Oct. 31)
Miranda Haas won the Golden Grizzly Open (Sept. 4), and placed in the top five at two other events in 2015
▪ Head Coach Paul Rice won the Horizon League Coach of the Year award for Women's Cross Country
