ROCHESTER, Mich. -- Aaron Dehn threw 7.0 innings, striking out five batters with no walks and allowed three earned runs as the Oakland baseball team dropped its final regular season game of the season to Northern Kentucky 7-6 Saturday afternoon at the Oakland Baseball Field.

Oakland (15-38, 11-19 HL) and Northern Kentucky (24-31, 17-13 HL) went back-and-fourth all day as the Golden Grizzlies jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning with a RBI-single from Tyler Pagano and a Myles Zilinsky walk with the bases loaded.

NKU answered with three runs in the top of the third inning then Oakland did the same in the bottom of the inning to regain the lead, 5-3 thanks to a Matt DiLeo base hit, Zilinsky sacrifice fly and a Ryan Fitzgerald walk. Both teams scored one run the the fifth inning and Northern Kentucky added another in the sixth to cut the Oakland lead to 6-5. The Norse tied the game in the eighth inning off a RBI-double from Trey Ganns and drove in the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth with a sacrifice fly to left field.

The Golden Grizzlies will be the No. 5 seed in the league tournament beginning Wednesday, May 24, hosted by UIC, and will face No. 4 seed Valparaiso at 1 p.m. ET. Oakland won three of its five games against the Crusaders this season.
