ROCHESTER, Mich. -- The Oakland baseball team will resume league play this weekend with a three-game series at Wright State beginning Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Nischwitz Stadium. The series was moved to Dayton earlier this week due to poor weather conditions.
Oakland split a pair of midweek games against MAC opponents, earning a 3-2 win at Eastern Michigan on March 28 and dropping a 8-5 contest at Toledo March 29. Both games saw solid starts from the starting pitchers as Nick Parr picked up his second win of the season throwing 5.0 innings and allowing just two earned runs against the Eagles, while Connor Fannon struck out a career-high seven batters in 5.0 innings allowing three earned runs against the Rockets.
Wright State has won six of its last seven games including a pair of sweeps over Valparaiso and Milwaukee to begin league play. The Raiders have outscored their Horizon League foes 26-6 in the six conference games so far. Left-handed pitcher Danny Sexton has won all five of his starts, leading the league in wins and earned-run average at 0.66. At the plate, Seth Gray leads the team with a .293 batting average and Adrian Marquez is hitting .291 with 16 RBIs and four home runs.
