ELMHURST, Ill. -- Robby Enslen was named The Summit League Player of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday. It is the first ever player of the week award for the freshman from from Middleville, Mich.
With a hit in all four games of Oakland's weekend series sweep of Western Illinois, Enslen helped the Golden Grizzlies move into a tie for first place in the league standings. Starting every game at second base, he posted three multi-hit games with a .571 batting average. For the week he also had a .714 slugging percentage.
Enslen started the weekend with a 3-for-5 effort and never cooled off posting a .563 on-base percentage. He drove in three runs in game two of the series and finished the week with a total of four RBIs and three runs scored.
The Golden Grizzlies and Enslen have been victorious in eight straight games, winning every game of an eight-game home stand. The team will now take the streak on the road with a game at Northwestern on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET.
