OAKLAND WRAPS UP FALL SEASON WITH BLACK AND GOLD SERIES

ROCHESTER, Mich. - Zach Sterry led the Black squad with six hits including a home run to be named MVP as the Black Squad defeated the Gold Squad 2-to-1 in the best of three series as the Oakland baseball team concluded its 2014 Fall Season.

Sterry and Jimmy Marx each went 6-for-11 in the series as the Black Squad took the first two games with scores of 12-1 and 11-10 in extra innings. In game three the Gold Squad picked up their lone victory 6-2. The Gold Squad's offensive attack was led by Robby Enslen who went 2-for-6 with six walks and two hit-by-pitches with Ian Yetsko hitting a home run.

Nate Lewis tossed 5.0 shutout innings with four strikeouts, while Luke Scharich did not allow an earned run for the Black squad. The Gold squad pitching staff had solid starting performances from Jason Hager, throwing 4.0 innings allowing one run with five fanned batters, and Jake Morton surrendering one run in 5.2 innings pitched.
