DORSEY-WALKER GRANTED NCAA WAIVER TO COMPETE IMMEDIATELY

ROCHESTER, Mich. - Oakland's Sherron Dorsey-Walker has received immediate eligibility from the NCAA to compete for the men's basketball team, announced by head coach Greg Kampe on Friday. Dorsey-Walker transferred to Oakland University in January from Iowa State.

ROCHESTER, Mich. - Oakland and Georgia have reached a three-year agreement to play each other in men's basketball starting in Athens, Ga. on Dec. 1. The Golden Grizzlies will host the Bulldogs inside the Athletics Center O'rena in 2016-17 and return to UGA in 2017-18.

ROCHESTER, Mich. – Former Oakland University basketball player Drew Valentine has been named assistant basketball coach, announced by Greg Kampe on Monday. Valentine, a native of Lansing, Mich., spent the last two seasons as a graduate manager on Tom Izzo’s staff at Michigan State.

OAKLAND CONTINUES FOCUS ON GAMEDAY EXPERIENCE

ROCHESTER, Mich. - Oakland University Athletics will continue to keep gameday experience for its fans in the forefront and will add LED lights and HD sound in renovations to the Athletics Center O'rena. The lights will allow Oakland to meet NCAA Broadcast Level C standards, more than doubling current light levels on the court.

BEAT CANCER EVENT

ROCHESTER, Mich. - Oakland men's basketball coach Greg Kampe held his first Coaches vs. Cancer event this week as 10 of the top college basketball coaches in the nation came together to help raise money to fight cancer. The event raised over $165,000 with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.
