ROCHESTER, Mich. -- Oakland will host its annual Mitten Toss during halftime of the men's basketball game against Northern Kentucky on Friday, Jan. 5. The game is set for a 9 p.m. tip-off and will air on ESPN2.

Mitten Toss, a longtime tradition of Oakland swimming and diving, encourages fans to bring new or gently used mittens or gloves to be thrown onto the court at halftime. All items donated will go to The Baldwin Center, a nonprofit organization that serves to feed, clothe, educate and empower the Pontiac community.

The mittens will be presented to Baldwin Center representatives at the men's basketball game on Sunday, Jan. 7 against Wright State as part of Pontiac Day, which includes discounted tickets for Pontiac residents. Sunday's game is set for a 3 p.m. start.

For more information or to purchase tickets, call the Oakland University Athletics Ticket Office at (248) 370-4000
