ROCHESTER, Mich. -- The Oakland men's basketball team will take on rival Detroit Mercy Friday, Feb. 9 inside the O'rena on ESPN2 as part of the Metro Series Rivalry driven by Trinity Transportation. The game can also be heard on WDFN 1130 AM or with the iHeart Radio app with Neal Ruhl and Matt Dery on the call.

Friday's game is a White Out in the O'rena, where fans are encouraged to wear white Oakland apparel and there will also be a free white out giveaway item. 

Last time out Oakland defeated IUPUI 82-74 as Kendrick Nunn and Jalen Hayes scored 25 and 21 points respectively.

METRO SERIES
>The Golden Grizzlies and Detroit Mercy branded a rivalry in 2014 that includes competition between the shared 14 intercollegiate sports. Points are awarded to the school that picks up the victory. In the sports of cross country, golf, track and field, the school with the highest finish at the Horizon League Championships will be awarded the two points. More info.

> The Golden Grizzlies have dominated the rivalry over the first three seasons, outscoring the Titans 73-31.

> Oakland currently leads the series 11-1 in the fourth season of the rivalry.

> Kendrick Nunn was selected as one of 10 candidates for the 2018 Jerry West Shooting Guard of the Year Award announced by The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. The award recognizes the top shooting guards in Division I men's college basketball.
