OAKLAND ANNOUNCES 2017-18 MEN'S BASKETBALL HORIZON LEAGUE SCHEDULE

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Horizon League announced the 2017-18 men's basketball schedule on Wednesday as Oakland begins league play on the road Dec. 28 at Milwaukee and Dec. 30 at Green Bay. The Golden Grizzlies will play their conference home opener Jan. 5 against reigning tournament champion Northern Kentucky which will be nationally televised on ESPN2 or ESPNU.

Oakland will face Metro Series rival Detroit Mercy at Calihan Hall on Jan. 20, then host the Titans Feb. 9 on ESPN2. The defending Horizon League regular season champions will also host UIC on Feb. 2 on ESPNU for its third annual WinterFest game. ESPNU will also carry Oakland's game at Northern Kentucky on Jan. 26.

The Golden Grizzlies will play 16 home games at the O'rena this season plus host Michigan State at the new Little Caesars Arena on Dec. 16. Game times are to be determined.
