ROCHESTER, Mich.
-- Oakland men's basketball reported back for its first official team practice Saturday morning as the 2017-18 begins for the defending Horizon League regular season champions.

Oakland returns three-time all-league forward Jalen Hayes and leading scorer Martez Walker (17.8 points per game in 2016-17). The Golden Grizzlies add Illinois-transfer Kendrick Nunn, who averaged 15.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game in his last season with the Illini. Guards Nick Daniels and Brailen Neely return for their senior and sophomore campaigns respectively, each appearing in all 34 games a year ago.

The Golden Grizzlies also welcome back junior forward Xavier Hill-Mais, junior center Brad Brechting and sophomore guard Chris Palombizio.

Oakland opens its season with an exhibition game against Davenport on Nov. 6 before hosting Fort Wayne for the regular season opener on Nov. 10.
