ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Oakland athletic department will host its annual Basketball Tipoff Breakfast at the Royal Park Hotel on Wednesday, October 24 from 7:15-8:45 a.m., Athletic Director Tracy Huth announced on Wednesday. The event is an appreciation breakfast for fans of Oakland basketball and an opportunity to mix and mingle with Oakland players and coaches.
"This event is a wonderful activity that allows our fans to connect with our players and coaches on a personal level," said Huth.
Tickets to the event are just $30 if purchased before October 20 and will be $35 at the door. The experience includes a buffet-style breakfast with coffee service, with men's and women's basketball players and coaching staff members guaranteed to be seated throughout the room.
"It's turned into a tradition that is a fun and exciting day for our fans, alumni, staff and team," said OU men's basketball coach Greg Kampe.
"This is an event I look forward to every year," said head women's basketball coach Beckie Francis. "Our fans are some of the best in the country and it gives us a great opportunity to interact with them on a one-on-one level."
The event will also feature a silent auction and raffle for top-notch Oakland packages, including rare OU basketball memorabilia. As a special bonus for season ticket holders, the 2012-13 ticket booklets will be distributed at the event.
The public is welcome to attend the tipoff breakfast, but space is limited. For more information about the event and to purchase tickets online go to www.oakland.edu/tipoff. Parties interested in taking advantage of sponsorship opportunities can contact Gina DeMartis (DeMartis@Oakland.edu).
