ROCHESTER, Mich. - Oakland will play three televised games on Fox Sports Net, one nationally-televised game on ESPNU, and will broadcast 19 regular-season games on WDFN-AM (1130), announced by Director of Athletics Tracy Huth. The Golden Grizzlies will televise two home games on FS Detroit.
"Our relationship with Fox Sports Detroit continues to grow each year and we are excited to have two home games televised," said Huth. "It brings great exposure to our university and invites fans into our O'rena that normally do not get a chance to see how spectacular of a facility we have on campus."
"We're just really excited that we are continuing to push forward in the national media," said OU coach Greg Kampe. "We have games that are on national TV, our radio network continues to grow and we're pretty excited about having another ESPNU game, where we have done pretty well. Any time we can get national exposure, that's a big thing for our program and every year it seems to be elevating, and that's a good sign."
The Golden Grizzlies will take on West Virginia in a nationally-televised game on ESPNU on Dec. 19 at 9 p.m. The Tennessee game (7 p.m.) on Nov. 26 will broadcast on FS Detroit Plus, and two home games versus Western Illinois (5 p.m./Homecoming) on Jan. 26 and South Dakota State (5 p.m.) on Feb. 9 will air on FS Detroit. The Golden Grizzlies will face Michigan State (8:15 p.m.) on the Big Ten Network on Nov. 23 and play a locally-televised game on Comcast Sports Southeast (CSS) at Alabama (3 p.m. CT).
Mario Impemba, the 2011 Michigan Sportscaster of the Year, is back for his seventh season as the play-by-play voice of the Golden Grizzlies. Impemba is the Emmy Award winning play-by-play voice of the Detroit Tigers on FS Detroit. He will be joined by color analyst Neal Ruhl who enters his fourth season with the basketball program.
