ROCHESTER, Mich. -- Oakland's Athletic Center O'rena will host an open practice for the Detroit Pistons on Saturday from Noon to 1 p.m. Admission is free with doors opening at 11:45 a.m.
"The open practice is a great event where our fans can come out and get a preview of this year's team." said Joe Dumars, Pistons President of Basketball of Operations. "Our players and coaching staff have been working hard to get ready for the upcoming season and we look forward to getting things started."
The O'rena is a 3,000-seat arena located on the Oakland campus, located just 4.6 miles from the Palace of Auburn Hills. The O'rena serves as the home court for the highly-successful Golden Grizzlies men's and women's basketball programs.
Saturday's open practice will include a scrimmage starting at noon, featuring Pistons players like Greg Monroe, Brandon Knight, Rodney Stuckey and Andre Drummond. Head coach of the Pistons, Lawrence Frank, will also be on hand to interact with the crowd during the scrimmage.
The event will also feature the Detroit Pistons performance teams, live player interviews with Mason, the Pistons' public address announcer, in addition to meet-and-greet opportunities with the Detroit Pistons Dancers.
Pre-event festivities will include entertainment from the Detroit Pistons Cheer Team, Drumline and mascot Hooper. The Detroit Pistons Hoops Truck will also be set in front of the O'rena giving fans the opportunity to get interactive and test their skills.
Fans are encouraged to park in the on-campus parking structure or in parking lots P16 and P18.
