HAYES NAMED TO LOU HENSON AWARD PRESEASON WATCH LIST

BOSTON -- Oakland's Jalen Hayes has been named to the Lou Henson Award Preseason Watch List. Hayes, a redshirt senior from Lansing, Mich., led the team in rebounding a season ago and was second in scoring.

A total of 51 players were selected to the list, including Horizon League Preseason Player of the Year Drew MacDonald from Northern Kentucky as well as UIC's Dikembe Dixson and Youngstown State's Cameron Morse.

Hayes was a first team all-league selection in 2016-17 while recording nine double-doubles and surpassing 1,000 career points. He ranked third during Horizon League play in scoring at 17.9 points per game.

The Lute Henson Award is presented annually to the nation's top Division I mid-major player. The award recipient will be announced on March 31, 2018 at the CollegeInsider.com Awards Event in San Antonio, site of the men's NCAA Basketball Championship.
