ROCHESTER, Mich. - Oakland (2-4) travels to Knoxville, Tenn. for a non-conference tilt with Tennessee (3-1) on Monday night inside Thompson-Boling Arena at 7 p.m. The game will be regionally-televised on Fox Sports Detroit Plus and available on the radio at WDFN-AM (1130).
The Golden Grizzlies are coming off their worst shooting performance in the Division I era at No. 15 Michigan State, finishing at 28 percent. Despite having an off night, Oakland had a chance to get within one point as Travis Bader's 3-point attempt rattled in and out with the score 55-51 and 5:38 remaining. The Spartans would close out the game on a 15-1 run as the Grizzlies did not record a field goal over the final 6:36 of the contest.
The last time Oakland did not shoot over 30 percent in a game was in its final year of transition to D-I at Northwestern (11/21/98). That night the Golden Grizzlies shot 20 percent (9-46) in a 68-30 loss to the Wildcats.
Corey Petros is the only OU player to reach double figures in all six games this season. Petros leads The Summit League in field goal percentage (.680) and is third in rebounding (7.2 per game). Duke Mondy had a career-high six steals at MSU on Friday night and now leads the league with 2.7 steals per game.
