WALKER NAMED HORIZON LEAGUE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

INDIANAPOLIS -- Martez Walker has been named Horizon League Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 27 through Dec. 3 after averaging 28.7 points per game in three wins last week at Oral Roberts and Western Michigan and at home against Texas Southern.

Walker, a redshirt senior from Detroit, Mich., scored a career high 32 points on Nov. 27 in an overtime win over Oral Roberts. He also grabbed six rebounds, dished out five assists, and recorded a career high 12 field goals made.

At Western Michigan on Dec. 2, Walker matched his career high with another 32 point performance on 10 of 14 shooting from the field including five of seven from beyond the arc, as Oakland earned its first win in Kalamazoo since 2000.

The 6-foot-6 guard also recorded 22 points and a career high four blocks in a win against Texas Southern on Nov. 30 at the O'rena. The Golden Grizzlies will be back in action Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. against Eastern Michigan on the road.
