INDIANAPOLIS -- Jalen Hayes has been named Horizon League Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 18-24 after helping the Golden Grizzlies earn a pair of wins last week.

Hayes, a redshirt senior from Lansing, Mich., averaged 31 points and nine rebounds last week in wins over Towson and Eastern Michigan.

Against Towson, Hayes recorded his Horizon League-leading sixth double-double of the season with 25 points and 10 rebounds on seven-for-11 shooting and a perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line. He also added two assists and two blocks as Oakland snapped the Tigers’ 10-game winning streak.

Two days later, the senior forward notched a career high 37 points on 14 of 21 shooting and added eight rebounds as the Golden Grizzlies defeated Eastern Michigan 86-81.
