Oakland Charges Up Leaderboard at Detroit Titans Invitational
The Golden Grizzlies posted a final round low score of 299.

HIGHLAND, Mich. - Despite sleet, flurries and severe wind, the Oakland University men's golf team battled through it all to post a final round low score of 299 to climb two spots and finish in a tie for third place (900/+36) at the Detroit Titans Invitational on Saturday at Prestwick Village Golf Club (Par 72, 7,142 yards). Junior Travis Peitz and sophomore Michael Coriasso each carded a score of 2-over-par 74 to lead OU in the final round.
Senior Frank McAuliffe posted a final round 75 to finish in a tie for seventh place to lead the Golden Grizzlies. Freshman Jakob Ziegler tallied a final round score of 76 (+4) to round out team compettors for the Grizzlies. OU was able to post the only sub-300 score without its fifth player Blake Terrill who withdrew due to an undisclosed illness.
Green Bay ran away with the tournament title with a final round score of 300 and finished with a 16-over-par score of 880. Youngstown State finished second with a 28-over-par score of 892, eight shots clear of OU and tournament host Detroit who tallied a final round score of 310. GB's Austin Ehlenfeldt took home medalist honors after shooting 74 on this final day and finished with a 1-over-par score of 217, three shots clear of second place.
The Golden Grizzlies will travel to Utah for The Summit League Championship, April 26-27. The 54-hole championship event will take place in St. George at Entrada at Snow Canyon.
