HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - Evan Bowser shot a team-best 73 (+1) in the final round to place 11th, while Jake Kneen earned All-Tournament Team honors after placing fifth with a three-day total of 218 (+2) as the Oakland men's golf team finished runner-up after the final day of action at the Horizon League Championship on Sunday from Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort (par 72, 6,816 yards).

"We came up short of the championship that was our goal all year, but I'm really proud of the effort of our team this week and all season long," said head coach Mark Engel. "A lot of other teams would be glad to say they brought home a trophy two-straight years. I think Oakland was 80 shots behind the leaders just two years ago and we've cut that to eight in a really short time. We're knocking on the door and hopefully next year is the year we kick it in."

The Golden Grizzlies place runner-up for the second consecutive season after posting a three-round total of 890 (+26), eight strokes behind team champion Cleveland State who have now won its third-consecutive title. Kneen's final score of 218 ties for the sixth-best individual score at the conference tournament in program history and fell seven strokes behind individual champion Ryan Wenzler from Wright State.
