Demir Muftari joins the Oakland men's soccer staff as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2012 season. Muftari comes with an outstanding coaching and playing pedigree that includes experience at the highest level with the Vardar Academy.

Muftari holds his National C coaching license from the USSF. He has coached at Vardar Academy since 2001 and has also coached with the Bloomfield Force and TPSA Crunch club programs. Muftari also served as the head varsity soccer coach at Kimball High School since 1997.

As a coach at Vardar Academy, Muftari has won numerous State Cup titles with both men's and women's teams. In 2010 he led a Vardar Academy under-18 men's team to the US Developmental Academy National Championship. The match was held at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.
