Dempster is a 1998 inductee into the Oakland Hall of Honor as she played from 1988-92 and was a two-time All-American for the Pioneers. During her junior season, she averaged 20.3 points per game as she scored in double-figures in all 29 games and had 14 contests of 20 or more points. Dempster finished her career with 1,445 points in only three season at OU.
She graduated with her degree in education and psychology and reading as she taught in the Bloomfield Hills School District for eight years after graduating. Dempster also continued to coach as she was an assistant at Madonna University for three years.
Dempster resides in Rochester with her husband, John, and their three children, Christopher and twins Ben and Kate.
