INDIANAPOLIS - Taylor Jones scored a team-high 18 points on 7-for-11 shooting going 3-for-5 from behind the arc with two steals as Oakland fell 80-64 at conference leading IUPUI on Saturday. Taylor Gleason added 16 points with five assists and four steals while Sha'Keya Graves also scored 16 points going 5-for-5 from the free throw line.
Timely IUPUI (13-3, 5-0 HL) runs proved to be the difference as Oakland (10-7, 3-3 HL) battled through three quarters only trailing by five points, 62-57, entering the fourth. However, the Jaguars opened the final frame on a 10-0 run while holding the Golden Grizzlies to only seven points for the entire quarter to seal the win and remain unbeaten in conference play.
In the first half, Oakland had a 12 point lead before IUPUI closed out the half with a 17-8 run to tie the score at 35-35 entering the locker room.
The Golden Grizzlies open a five-game home stand beginning with Milwaukee on Thursday, Jan. 18 at 7 p.m. Prior to the game, the team will be honoring Taylor Jones for becoming the 28th player in program history to score 1000 career points.
