ROCHESTER, Mich. - Taylor Jones led Oakland with a team-high 14 points while Leah Somerfield just missed a double-double scoring nine points with nine rebounds, two blocks and two assists as the Golden Grizzlies dropped a hard fought contest to visiting Milwaukee, 74-62, on Thursday night.
Despite scoring 29 points off 21 turnovers, Oakland could not overcome Milwaukee's production from the free throw line and the Panthers went 21-for-22 at a 95.5 percent clip.
After trailing by 10 points at the half, Oakland opened up the third quarter on 15-7 run to climb within two points at 49-47. However, Milwaukee responded outscoring the Golden Grizzlies 10-4 to close out the quarter and maintained the lead in the fourth mainly from the charity stripe going 9-for-10 en route to the win.
