SOMERFIELD LEADS OAKLAND TO CONVINCING METRO SERIES WIN OVER DETROIT MERCY, 83-50

ROCHESTER, Mich. - Leah Somerfield recorded her fifth double-double of the season in grand fashion posting career-highs in points (27) and rebounds (18) along with career-marks in field goals (10) and blocks (3) along with three steals as Oakland rolled to a 83-50 Metro Series Driven by Trinity Transportation win on Saturday. The win snapped a three-game skid for the Golden Grizzlies against the Titans.

Sha'Keya Graves added 20 points going 4-of-9 from 3-point range while Cierra Bond chipped in with 15 points on 4-of-8 shooting from behind the arc. The tandem also grabbed three steals each defensively. Taylor Gleason dished out a season-high nine assists with three steals and no turnovers while scoring 11 points. Korrin Taylor also had a season-high four steals and four assist off the bench.

Oakland's 83 points and 20 assists were a season-best in conference play.

The Golden Grizzlies host Youngstown State on Thursday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m.
