OAKLAND'S SECOND HALF RALLY COMES UP SHORT AT WRIGHT STATE

DAYTON, Ohio - Taylor Jones scored 16 points with six rebounds and three assist while Leah Somerfield also added 16 points with five rebounds and two assists as Oakland's second half rally from 22 points down came up short to Wright State, 80-75, on Saturday.

The Golden Grizzlies used a 17-0 third quarter run to get back into the game aided by 13 points from Taylor Gleason and 12 points from Sha'Keya Graves along with 27 total points from the bench. Mercy Agwaniru was a point shy of her season-high with eight points and six boards.

Despite Oakland shooting a season-high 88 percent (15-for-17) from the free throw line, the Golden Grizzlies could not overcome WSU's 33 points off 48 attempts from the charity stripe and 22 offensive rebounds which led to 20 second chance points.

Oakland returns to the Blacktop at the O'rena against IUPUI on Thursday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m.
