ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Sha'Keya Graves scored a team-high 19 points on 7-of-14 shooting while Cierra Bond added 14 points with seven rebounds and two steals as Oakland came up short dropping a hard fought 78-69 decision at Michigan on Wednesday night. Taylor Gleason also scored 12 points with a game-high seven assists and four steals.
After trailing by two points, 31-29, at the half, Oakland turned up the defense holding U-M without a field goal over an eight minute span to take a 46-45 lead in the third quarter. However, the Wolverines earned a majority of their points from the free throw line to take a 51-49 lead into the fourth.
In the fourth quarter, Oakland pulled within four points at 66-62 before U-M went on a 6-0 run to pull ahead for good and sealed the game from the line en route to the win.
The Golden Grizzlies travel Ithaca, NY for a game at Canisius on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 7 p.m.
