EAST LANSING, Mich.- Leah Somerfield scored a season-high 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field going a perfect 4-for-4 from the line with seven rebounds as the Oakland women's basketball team dropped a hard fought 81-74 decision at No. 22 Michigan State on Friday night at the Breslin Center. Taylor Jones led the Golden Grizzlies with 19 points hitting 3-for-5 from behind the arc.

Taylor Gleason and Sha'Keya Graves and added 13 and 12 points respectively while Hannah Little grabbed a team-high 13 rebounds with five steals and three assists.

Oakland took its second lead of the game in the third quarter at 38-37 and only trailed by one at 56-55 entering the fourth. However, MSU opened the period on a 14-4 run to move ahead for good despite the Golden Grizzlies cutting the deficit to four with 2:22 remaining.

Oakland returns home on Monday, Dec. 5 against North Dakota State at 7 p.m.
