ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Oakland women's basketball team concludes its five-game home stand with a pair of games against Youngstown State and Cleveland State. The Golden Grizzlies and Penguins tip off on Thursday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. for the Children's Cancer Awareness Game followed by an afternoon game against the Raiders on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 3 p.m. Both games will be broadcast live from the Blacktop at the O'rena on ESPN3 with Brad Golder (play-by-play) and Reggie Butler (analyst) on the call.
Series History: Oakland leads the all-time series against Youngstown State 10-9 after outlasting the Penguins, 58-48, on Dec. 30. Cleveland State leads Oakland with an all-time mark of 6-4 after the Vikings downed the Golden Grizzlies in league opening action, 70-62, on Dec. 28.
Five and Counting: Leah Somerfield set a career-high with her fifth double-double of the season (27 points, 18 rebounds) against arch-rival Detroit Mercy earning Horizon League Player of the Week Honors.
Droppin' Dimes: Taylor Gleason leads the league in assists (4.9) while the Golden Grizzlies rank second in the league in assists per game (14.50).
Crash the Boards: Oakland ranks third in defensive rebounds (25.2), offensive rebounds (13.2) and rebounds per game (38.7) while ranking sixth in rebounding margin (-2.3). The Golden Grizzlies are 7-3 when out rebounding their opponent this season.
